Crypto Update
Binance: more than a laptop. What should you check now?
Original source published:
An initial explanation is not the complete answer. Binance now says it has found additional breach points beyond the previously mentioned laptop. What does that new information mean if you want to use your crypto?

What has actually changed?
In its official statement on 30 October at 08:47 UTC, Binance reports additional points where attackers breached its systems. It describes a complex attack and says it is still gathering facts with law enforcement.
The statement does not identify those other points. A complete technical report on the cause is still pending. The new information broadens the earlier explanation; it does not establish that the investigation is finished.
Can you withdraw again?
That is not what Binance announces. It says it remains on track to resume withdrawals within an expected 45 hours of this statement. This remains an estimate, not a guaranteed deadline. Deposits continue normally, according to Binance.
Binance also says the unauthorised outflows stopped when it paused withdrawals. That is the company’s statement, not independent proof that every security problem has been resolved.
Why does this distinction help you?
Planning a payment or moving crypto soon? Look for confirmed restoration and current availability for your coin and network. A time estimate counting down is not the same as a functioning withdrawal service.
A fictional example: Noor can see her balance and reads that the service should return soon. She does not promise a payment at a fixed hour. First she checks whether withdrawals are actually available. That separates an expectation from access.
What about the promise to cover losses?
Binance repeats its commitment to cover losses from its SAFU emergency fund and company funds. The promise does not demonstrate completed reimbursements. The repeated figure of around $3 billion frozen is also not a new amount to add to earlier announcements.
Check directly; do not let urgency decide
Open the official app or website yourself. Do not give anyone a password, login code or recovery phrase to supposedly unlock a withdrawal sooner. An urgent message asking for payment cannot resolve a platform pause.
The background and three practical learning questions are in the first Binance article. This follow-up adds no new questions or points opportunity. The free website quizzes remain available for further practice.
