Crypto Update
Binance: deposits work, withdrawals wait. What does that mean for you?
Original source published:
Sending money to a platform and taking it back out are different things. Binance now clarifies that deposits operate normally while withdrawals remain paused. That distinction matters when you want access to your crypto.

What is new?
In its official statement on 30 October at 04:36 UTC, Binance says deposits are unaffected and continue normally. Withdrawals remain on hold while the company rebuilds security for its withdrawal service and the related addresses.
This clarifies the earlier communication behind our first article, which described both deposits and withdrawals as paused. The latest statement explicitly separates the two.
What does the 48-hour estimate mean?
Binance expects to resume withdrawals within 48 hours of its statement. This is the company’s estimate, not a guaranteed deadline and not an announcement that withdrawals already work again. A further official confirmation is still needed.
Why does this matter to you?
Being able to deposit does not mean you can immediately withdraw the same amount. Think of two separate doors: the entrance can be open while the exit is temporarily closed. This analogy concerns access only, not Binance’s financial condition.
Planning to move or use crypto soon? First check the current withdrawal status and the information for your coin and network in the genuine app or website. A displayed balance does not by itself tell you whether a withdrawal can be completed now.
Is the cause fully understood?
Not yet. Binance describes several contributing factors and says it is tracing the full attack path through the compromised computer, which may have been the entry point. It promises a fuller report on the cause. A final explanation is therefore still pending.
Stay with genuine information
Open the official Binance app or website yourself. A stranger offering to unlock your withdrawal for a fee cannot resolve a platform-wide pause. Do not share passwords, login codes or recovery phrases.
